TAG 72 (CA 72-4, Tumor-associated Glycoprotein 72) (BSA & Azide Free) (HRP)

Anti-TAG-72 defines the mucin-carried sialylated-Tn epitope. Tumor-associated glycoprotein (TAG-72) is an oncofetal antigen with properties of a mucin. About 60% of carcinoma patients express TAG-72 in their sera. A majority of human adeno-carcinomas including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, ovarian, endometrial, mammary, and non-small cell lung cancer display some cell populations that are positive for TAG-72 staining. Weak or no reactivity has been observed with most cell types of normal adult tissue, except the secretory endometrium. It is reportedly useful in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation (denatured), Radioimaging and Immunohistochemistry. Not recommended for Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate (Use Protein G).\n\nImmunohistochemistry: 2-5ug/ml for 60 min at RT (Frozen & formalin/paraffin). Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.\n\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nCellular Localization: \nCell surface and cytoplasmic\n\nPositive Control:\nHT29, Ls174T cells; Breast or lung carcinoma\n\nMolecular Weight of Antigen: \n> 1,000kD\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
