DDX3, NT (DEAD Box Protein 3 X-chromosomal, DBX, Helicase-Like Protein 2, HLP2)

Description: \nDDX3 contains all of the motifs of the DEAD-box family of RNA helicases, including the Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp sequence that gives the protein family its name and distinguishes it \nfrom other RNA helicases (1,2). DDX3 is localized to the \nX chromosome and has a highly conserved functional \nhomolog (DBY) on the Y chromosome (3). DDX3 is \nthought to be involved in RNA splicing, RNA transport, and \ntranslation initiation (4). It has also been shown to be \ninvolved in cell growth control and is deregulated in \nhepatitis virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (5). \nRecent experiments suppressing DDX3 expression \nblocked HIV-1 RNA export from the nucleus, suggesting \nthat DDX3 functions as a shuttling protein that transports \nthe HIV-1 protein Rev and its cofactor CRM1 from the \nnucleus to the cytoplasm (6). \n \nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPostive control:\nHepG2 cell lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
