p62Dok was first identified as a 62kD RasGAP-binding protein in v-Abl transformed B cells and in Bcr-Abl expressing cells. It is a novel protein with features of a signaling molecule. Association of p62Dok with GAP correlates with its tyrosine phosphorylation. It is rapidly tyrosine-phosphorylated upon activation of the c-Kit receptor, implicating it as a component of a signal transduction pathway downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases. The protein contains a putative pleckstrin homology domain at the amino terminus and ten PXXP SH3 recognition motifs. Thefunctional role of the protein is implicated in the regulation of a wide range of physiological responses, including negative regulation of cytokines, enhanced cell migration, filopodia extension and tumor suppression. The adapter protein also plays distinct roles in mediating platelet activation in hemostasis. human p62Dok gene maps on chromosome 2 at 2p13.

May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
