Human coagulation factor VII is a single chain protease that circulates in the blood as a weakly active zymogen at concentrations of approximately 10nmol/L. When converted to the active 2 chain form (VIIa), it is a powerful initiator of hemostasis. Recombinant Factor VIIa is a unique hemostatic agent with potential for broad-spectrum applications in bleeding patients with congenital and acquired bleeding abnormalities. At present, recombinant Factor VIIa is only approved for the treatment of hemophilia A and B patients who have acquired antibodies to Factors VIII and IX.\n\nRecombinant Human Factor VIIa produced in BHK is a glycosylated polypeptide two-chain dimer consisting of 406 amino acids with a molecular weight of 50kD.\n\nDimers and Aggregates:\n(same/less than) 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.\n\nBiological Activity:\nRecombinant Factor-VIIa is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The potency was found to be 50,000 Units/mg.\n\nEndotoxin:\n(same/less than) 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug) of rHuFactor-VIIa\n\nReconstitution:\nReconstitute in sterile ddH2O to (same/more than)100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.\n\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
