Heparan Sulfate Proteoglycan (Perlecan, HSPG)

Perlecan is an extracellular matrix proteoglycan. It has a large core protein of 400-450kD and is often produced with heparan sulfate side chains. Perlecan is found in basement membranes where it contributes to the permeability charateristics, serves as a substrate for vascular cells and binds growth factors involved in vascular remodelling.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:8000\nWestern Blot: 1:100\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100; Frozen PLP-fixed sections of bovine and human tissues.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nCulture Medium: \nRPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum.\n\nHybridoma: \nSp2/O myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Highly specific for bovine perlecan. The epitope is located in domain I. No crossreactivity with other connective tissue proteins (vitronectin, fibronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin). Species Crossreactivity: Human.
