HMGA2 (High Mobility Group AT-hook Protein 2, BABL, High Mobility Group Protein HMGI-C, HMGIC, LIPO, STQTL9)

HMGA2 belongs to the family of high mobility group with AT-hook DNA binding domain. HMGA\nproteins are considered architectural transcription factors; they do not have direct transcriptional activation capacity, but instead regulate gene expression by changing DNA conformation through binding to AT-rich regions in the DNA, and/or direct interaction with other transcription factors\n(1,2). HMGA2 is abundantly and ubiquitously expressed and plays a crucial role during embryonic development (3). HMGA2 promotes stem cell self-renewal and decreases in its expression are associated with stem cell aging (4-7). Expression levels of HMGA2 are very low in normal adult tissues, but its overexpression or rearrangement is associated with many types of cancer (8-11).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000 Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% nonfat dry milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4 degrees C with gentle shaking, overnight.\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:50\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
