p53 (Tumor Protein p53, Tumor Suppressor p53, TP53, TRP53, Cellular Tumor Antigen p53, Phosphoprotein p53, Antigen NY-CO-13, LFS1)

p53 protein is crucial to normal regulation of cell growth and is a suppressor of tumor cell proliferation. The gene encoding for p53 is located on chromosome 17p, a fre- quent site of allelic loss in many tumors. A high propor- tion of breast and colon carcinomas are positive for p53 and this expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer. This antibody recognizes both wild type and mutant forms of p53 protein under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000-1:1500\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 for 1 hr. at RT\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nBreast and colon carcinomas (nuclear staining pattern)\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
