p53 (Tumor Protein p53, Tumor Suppressor p53, TP53, TRP53, Cellular Tumor Antigen p53, Phosphoprotein p53, Antigen NY-CO-13, LFS1)

p53 protein is crucial to normal regulation of cell growth and is a suppressor of tumor cell proliferation. The gene encoding for p53 is located on chromosome 17p, a fre- quent site of allelic loss in many tumors. A high propor- tion of breast and colon carcinomas are positive for p53 and this expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer. This antibody recognizes both wild type and mutant forms of p53 protein under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:20-1:40 for 1 hr. at RT\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nWestern Blot: HBL 100 cells\nImmunohistochemistry: A high percentage of breast and colonic carcinomas show labeling for p53 protein (nuclear staining pattern)\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
