Serum Amyloid P, Rat (SAP, APCS, PTX2, mature chain 204aa, chromosome 1q21-23)

Pentraxin 2, also known as Serum Amyloid P-Component (SAP), is a hepatocyte-derived glycoprotein that is a nonfibrillar component of amyloid deposits. Pentraxins have a characteristic pentagonal discoid arrangement of five non-covalently bound subunits. Plasma levels of SAP in rat are relatively constant during an acute phase immune response. SAP functions as an opsonin and interacts with Fc-Gamma receptors. The 26 kD, 208 amino acid (aa) mature rat SAP shares 79% and 70% aa identity with mouse and human SAP, respectively.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
