Slo1 (BKCa, BKCA alpha, BK channel, BK channel alpha subunit, Kcnma1, Potassium Large Conductance Calcium-Activated Channel, subfamily M, alpha member 1)

Slo1 (Calcium-activated potassium channel subunit alpha-1) may not only be activated by membrane depolarization but may also be by an increase in cytosolic Ca2+. The concentration of cytosolic Mg2+ also activates this potassium channel. Found to play a part in the repolarization of the membrane potential due to the fact that it diminishes the excitatory voltage in the cell.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml detects Slo1 on 10ug of rat brain membrane tissue lysate.\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:500 detects Slo1 in rat cerebellum tissue.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nPositive Control: \nRat brain membrane tissue lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
