The receptor activator of NF-kB ligand (RANK-L) is a recently discovered member of the TNF-ligand family involved in the regulation of the T cell-dependent immune response, lymph node organogenesis and bone formation. RANK-L exists as both a normal, transmembrane form and a truncated, soluble form (sRANK-L), both of which can stimulate the receptor. Activation of T cells, such as by treatment with interleukin-7, induces RANK-L production and leads to an increase of osteoclast formation and bone loss. Finally, sRANK-L can activate the antiapoptotic kinase Akt through a signaling complex involving Src kinase and TRAF6, suggesting sRANK-L may also play a role in regulating apoptosis. This antibody will recognize both the soluble form and the uncleaved transmembrane form of RANK-L.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.25-0.5ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nRat Liver Tissue Lysate or Human Liver Tissue Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
