Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 3 (VEGF R3)

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3, also called Flt4 (FMS-like tyrosine kinase 4), is a member of a subfamily of class III receptor tyrosine kinases (1). It contains seven extra-cellular immunoglobulin-like domains including 12 potential glycosylation sites, and an intracellular domain containing kinase activity, which is similar to VEGF Receptor1 and VEGF\nReceptor 2 (1,2,3). However, VEGF Receptor 3 does not bind to VEGF, PIGF or VEGF-B, but to VEGF-C and VEGF-D (3). VEGF Receptor 3 has been found to be restrictly expressed in lymphatic endothelia and high endothelial venules (HEV) (1,3,4,5). It has also been detected in some tumor cell lines including the hematopoietic cell line HEL, leukemic cell line U-937(4) and invasive breast cancers (3).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1ug/ml Detects immunogen.\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (formalin): 1-5ug/ml. Heat induced epitope retrieval with citrate buffer, pH 6.0, is required prior to staining. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
