XRCC1 (X-Ray Repair Cross Complementing Protein1)

X-Ray Repair Cross Complementing (XRCC1) plays a role in excision repair of DNA after ionizing irradiation. XRCC1 binds to DNA ligase III through the C-terminal 96 amino acids and to DNA polymerase beta through the N-terminal half.. In testis XRCC1 is expressed at high levels. Cells with a mutation of this gene exhibit decreased single strand break repair and reduced recombination repair. They show increased double strand breaks, and sister chromatid exchange is increased up to 10-fold. The XRCC1 might serve as a scaffold protein during base excision-repair. \n\nApplications:\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:500. Frozen\nImmunoprecipitation\nWestern Blotting: 1:1000-1:10,000. Detects a band of approximately 90kD\n\nRecommended Secondary Reagents\nSheep anti Rabbit IgG (Aff. Pur.): HRP\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
